In this talk, Harmonic designers Stephen Taylor and Tucker Witter discuss the effort and personal impact of designing behavior change with the non-profit organization Rare. Rare’s work focuses on driving social change to benefit nature and humankind.
Rare approached Harmonic Design with a challenge: how might we use service design tools combined with Rare’s expertise in behavioral science to influence people to adopt environment-friendly behaviors? Specifically, this engagement looked at purchasing carbon offsets, contracting with renewable energy, and adopting a plant-rich diet.
The project resulted in guides that raise awareness for how to create sustainable behavior change through practical methods.
