Harmonic Designs continues its partnership with Next Generation Men and Women (Next Gen) to expose high school students to the design profession and career pathways. Harmonic Design hosted a group of sophomores from Carver STEAM Academy in our studios in downtown Atlanta.
The Harmonic designers invited the students to add their profile doodles to our board to become honorary Harmonicas for a few hours. In addition to an interactive office tour and discussion, the students also participated in a design exercise by creating an empathy map. Creating and understanding empathy is a key fundamental of design. The empathy map is a collaborative visualization method that helps one understand the fuller picture of the user. Empathy mapping is widely used across professions and promotes collaborative work.

Harmonic Design believes in building a strong community by staying engaged locally and increasing exposure and outreach to the field of service design. If you are involved with education, innovation, or community organizing and would like to partner with Harmonic, we would love to hear from you.
