Combining theory and craft, Tucker designs services for humans
Tucker Witter, a service designer at Harmonic Design, has always been curious about the relationship between creativity and human research. He began his design journey studying rehabilitation science and assistive technology at the University of Pittsburgh, honing his skills in research, drafting, manufacturing, and human-centered design. His expertise in building custom research approaches, and his passion for pushing the craft of service design aid him in his goal to guide clients to a move service-oriented mindset.
After earning his MFAM.F.A. in service design from Savannah College of Art and Design, Tucker worked in the federal design consulting space, working with the Department of Veteran Affairs and the United States Postal Service as well as developing the service design community in Washington DC through the DC chapter of the Service Design Network. He recently moved to Portland, Maine, where he continues to refine his creative practice to improve the services that we interact with every day.
Examining creativity in our world to inspire ingenuity in the studio
As a service designer and maker, Tucker is constantly exploring the materials of different crafts to infuse into his own service design practice. When not studying the services around him, you can find him throwing pottery, sewing a quilt, listening to a new, hyper-specific music genre, or biking along the coast of Maine.
